Care You Can Trust. Clarity You Deserve.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy delivered with a focus on safety, transparency, and medically grounded care.
Who We Are
At Hyperbaric NC, we work with people facing complex healing challenges, especially when progress has slowed or stalled.
Many of our patients come to us after trying several approaches without the results they expected. They want answers, options, and a path forward that makes sense.
Our role is simple: provide hyperbaric oxygen therapy in a way that is thoughtful, appropriate, and aligned with your overall care. We don't replace your care. We support it.
Led by Harry Kurtz, PA-C
Hyperbaric NC was founded by Harry Kurtz, PA-C. Harry was selected for the Physician Assistant Surgical Residency at Duke University and has worked across many surgical specialties, including vascular, plastic, general, and orthopedic surgery.
Through surgery, he saw how much time and expertise good wound care requires, and how few patients had access to it outside a hospital. He founded Hyperbaric NC and our partner clinic, Wound Care NC, to bring advanced wound care and hyperbaric therapy to the community without unnecessary hospital fees.
How We Approach Care
Better outcomes come from clarity, not confusion. That means:
We take time to understand your condition and history
We are honest about when HBOT may help and when it may not
We coordinate with your existing providers when appropriate
We follow safe, consistent treatment protocols
Every plan is built around your specific situation.
Medical Oversight & Safety
HBOT is a medical treatment, and we approach it with that level of responsibility. All care is provided under appropriate medical oversight and follows established guidelines for hyperbaric medicine. We prioritize what is appropriate, not what is trendy.
Before treatment, we review your medical history, current conditions, medications, and any risks or contraindications.
During treatment, a trained technician monitors every session. Our FDA-cleared, single-person Sechrist 3600H chambers are maintained to high standards and meet North Carolina's requirements for pressure vessels for human occupancy. Soft-sided chambers do not.
Throughout your plan, we guide you through what to expect so you feel informed and comfortable.
What Makes Us Different
Patients exploring HBOT usually find three options: hospital-based programs, wellness-focused centers, and independent medical clinics. We are an independent medical clinic, which means:
You don't have to navigate a hospital system to get care
You receive more medical guidance than a typical wellness setting offers
You get clear, direct answers without unnecessary complexity or facility fees
We were honored to be named a 2023 News & Observer Raleigh's Best winner for Best Medical Practice.
Straight Talk
HBOT can be an important part of care in the right situations. It is not a cure-all. If we believe something else would serve you better, we will tell you.
